Angus Martin

Campbeltown Whisky:An Encyclopaedia

Poet and historian Angus Martin was born in Campbeltown in 1952 and has lived there all his life, for many of those years writing and publishing books about his place in his local environment and in the community. Many readers have become familiar with the walks he takes or been grateful to him for the local genealogical detail he makes available for those wanting to learn of their forebears and the lives they lived.
Now, in his thirty-seventh book, Angus takes a different focus and pours his insight and knowledge into a definitive account of the distillers, distilleries and related trades and industries of Campbeltown. And in doing so, tells the story of how a small West Highland fishing town was transformed into the whisky-making capital of the world.
